Smith County Employees Donate Coats and Stuffed Animals to East Texas Crisis Center

The Employees of Smith County recently held a coat and stuffed animal drive for children staying at the East Texas Crisis Center.  This is the second year employees have stepped up to collect items for the children at the East Texas Crisis Center.  A truckload of items, 87 coats, 67 toboggans, 76 pairs of gloves, 8 blankets, and well over 100 stuffed animals was taken to the Crisis Center on Monday to be given to children before Christmas and throughout the winter season.

“What a blessing to receive all these coats, toboggans, gloves and stuffed animals for our babies, children and teenagers living in our shelter. I am so thankful for the kindness and thoughtful generosity of the employees of Smith County,” Ms. Peacock said. “Thank you for organizing this ‘coats and more’ drive. You cannot imagine how much this will mean to their mothers. Everyone will be warm and cozy with something to cuddle up with no matter how cold it gets!”
